Job Description |
Looking for a challenging position overseas? Want to broaden your experience in a multi-national environment?
Our client seeks an experienced Senior Traffic Control Officer to bring UK best practice in urban traffic management and control to a rapidly developing city in the UAE. The appointment will be on a fixed-term contract basis and is likely to commence in August.
Working as part of an international team which will oversee the migration to a city-wide fully adaptive signal control system, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the current traffic control system, working with, and advising local staff to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow. There will be opportunities to lead and manage a team of operators, and to manage network improvement schemes. Effective training of junior staff will be key to the success of the project.
Successful applicants will have a minimum of 5 years of experience of urban traffic control in the UK, and will have a solid background of traffic engineering skills. You will be familiar with SCOOT Urban Traffic Control systems and UTMC, and some knowledge of alternative systems (SCATS, MOTION) would be beneficial. You must be able to work closely with the team and communicate effectively. Foreign language skills would be beneficial, though not essential.
