Job Description |
Our client is a well respected multi-office consultancy seeking to recruit an Associate / Principal Transport Economist. Providing expertise support as necessary, the role will also contribute to further establishing transport economics specialist delivery profile to their public and private sector clients
Typical responsibilities of the role will include but not limited to :-
a) Supporting the creation of new strategic plans including assessment of business cases for a variety of transport proposals for public and private sector clients.
b) Specialisation in the financial and economic appraisal of privately funded transport projects.
c) Traffic and economic assessment of transport projects ranging from urban traffic management and public transport projects to major inter-urban motorways
d) Guiding and advising clients on how to develop service and business strategies in transport provisions, developing business cases.
e) Advising clients on risks inherent in financially supporting transport infrastructure projects auditing and analysing the traffic and revenue forecasts of such projects
f) Analysis and prescription of solutions for transport problems, delivering market and revenue forecasts for client groups.
g) Developing bespoke modelling solutions, auditing forecasting processes and conducting due diligence procedures to expose critical issues and down-side risks.
h) Project feasibility studies and evaluations of social and economic consequences of public transport schemes
i) Growing, managing and marketing specialist teams of consultants
Applicants should have a depth of delivery of economic analysis, modelling, forecasting and transport related project delivery experience. They should be committed to providing high quality solutions and advice to clients and have first class report writing, project management, supervisory, communication and technical ability.
The successful applicant is likely to have the following attributes :-
a) Degree qualified with Post Graduate qualifications in a Transport related discipline.
b) Preferably, professional qualification and membership of a related body.
c) Experience of traffic forecasting, economic assessments and financial appraisal for transportation projects
d) Strong knowledge of technical transport planning environments.
e) Ability to produce methodologies / method statements.
f) Capable of representing the company in meetings with clients and other contractors.
